Bear Cottage is the only children’s hospice in NSW. Established in 2001, Bear Cottage provides support, respite and end-of-life care to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families. For the kids they care for, there is no happy ending, no miracle cure. As heart-breaking as it is, at Bear Cottage, they believe that life is for living and they help families to make the most of everyday.
To promote awareness and raise money for this very special place, Little Big Warrior will dedicate the practice to all the super heroes of Bear Cottage leading up to their Super Hero week. Led by children’s yoga and yoga therapy specialist, Shannon Summergreene, the children will be educated, have fun through yoga, inspired by play and imagination, while creating an understanding to be their own superhero – building awareness, strength, courage and confidence.
They will “fly” through strong, brave, confident and heart filled exercises, partner and supportive exercises, breathing exercises, relaxation. They will also be making their own super hero capes.
- All proceeds will go to Bear Cottage.
Children may bring their own yoga mat if desired, however, yoga mats are provided at no charge for all yoga classes.
