Corporates Step up to the School Holidays
I am sure that your children look forward to the school holidays and to have some well-deserved down time after the 10 weeks of learning. And they really do need the break. But it can be a complex time for parents and keeping the children occupied for the 12 weeks every year can be really challenging and costly.
It is really wonderful to see a few corporates starting to run school holiday workshops on site, significantly helping their employees and in the long term, retaining valuable staff.
These initiatives are certainly welcomed by parents, especially those who don’t have families around them to support them and help with childcare during the holidays. Whilst booking children into holiday camps and workshops is certainly an alternative, it can be logistically much harder… you need to drop and pick up your children and the location of the workshop may well be in the opposite direction to work. And the hours of the workshops may not coincide with your work hours.
Running a holiday workshop on site is an excellent way to overcome many of these hurdles that parents face. Some of the corporates subsidise the daily rate, whilst others require the families to pay or at least to contribute. Either way, it’s a far less stressful affair.
We believe it really is a win-win situation…
The employers end up with higher rates of productivity with happier, less stressed employees. Not to mention that these sorts of corporates certainly look more attractive to parents.
The employees have a far less stressful day and actually get to spend some time with their children during lunch.
The children love to go to their parents offices for the day and experience that part of their lives.
