Our robotics workshops, designed by teachers for schools & education services engage your students in 21st century learning with the latest technology, helping them become the innovative and creative problem solvers that the world needs. We have taught robotics across to over 55 000 Australian students in schools and children’s services.

Our team has grown, we have won awards, CBA Women in Focus Leadership Award, nominated for Telstra’s Business Women of the Year and have partnered with groups like PWC, Education Changemakers, Toyota, CBA, Stocklands Group and most recently Children’s University Australia. We are more passionate than ever about the importance of teaching robotics.

We implement a cross curricula, problem solving approach integrating the Digital Technologies, Science and Maths syllabuses. We are preparing Australia’s first innovation generation for their future by creating the shift from digital users to digital creators, fostering computational thinking which underpins much of our modern society, while developing, critical thinking, creativity, curiosity and resilience.

Who are the teachers

 

Michele Miller - Director and founder Head Franchisee Sydney Northern Beaches/Chatswood/ Mosman

All our Robotic Workshops are written, and co-ordinated by Michele. With over 30 years of classroom teaching experience, a speciality in GATS (covering both Public, Private and Catholic Sectors) and as a lecturer at UTS Insearch, Michele’s teaching experience is only matched by her passion for robotics. Michele is excited to know that Robokids is pivotal in creating the minds of the future.

 

Stephen Whalley (After School Programs and Incursions Manager)

Stephen is a wonderful educator with over 4 years teaching experience in both Melbourne and Sydney schools. He is passionate about getting kids to think about and get future-ready for our ever changing-world; which includes the world of robots! He is our AfterSchool Programs and Incursions Manager for the Northern Beaches region of Sydney.

 

Robokids Sydney East Inner West: Melissa & Peter Clark

After many years teaching on the North Coast of NSW in the Byron Bay-Lismore area, Peter and Melissa sought jobs in the world of International education. In 1999 they moved, with their two daughters Sophie and Phoebe, to take up positions at the Taipei American School in Taiwan. Peter teaching in the Elementary, Middle and High schools and Melissa in the Elementary. After 7 years in Taiwan they then spent two years at Jakarta International School in Indonesia’s capital before moving on to teach for the next nine years at the world’s largest International School, the Singapore American School in Woodlands, Singapore.

Peter and Melissa have enjoyed excellent and varied opportunities for continued professional development in their time abroad and have both attended and presented at numerous international education conferences, worked with a variety of cultures, and have been exposed to best practices in education and technology. They have also been fortunate to have held challenging leadership roles (Department Heads, Team Leaders, etc) in all 3  international schools in which they have worked.

And now after 18 wonderful years of living and working abroad, Peter and Melissa are returning to live in Sydney to take up an opportunity to work with Robokids. They are excited to work with Aussie kids and bring their expertise to the Robokids classrooms.

 

Robokids Sydney Lower North Shore: Richard Mei

Richard has a Bachelor of Science degree from Fudan University in Shanghai China, has over 19 years industry experience in business applications working with companies such as PWC, Oracle and IT Convergence.

Richard’s passion is coding and working with children in digital literacies. He is fluent in Mandarin and has a particular flair with ages 8 onwards. Richard will be taking the lead, developing our Robo C modules to be released for our 2019 incursions and workshops.

  • Robokids is endorsed to provide NESA Registered Professional Development for teachers accredited at Proficient Teacher Level.  Our 3 courses Stage 1 , Stage 2 & Stage 3 have all been endorsed.
